Please Sir! is a London Weekend Television situation comedy for ITV, created by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey and featuring actors John Alderton, DeryckPlease Sir! is a 1971 British comedy film starring John Alderton, spun off from the television series Please Sir! Mr. Hedges, the somewhat naive and idealisticportrayal of officious, short-tempered middle-aged men in sitcoms such as Please Sir! and Sykes. Guyler was born in Wallasey on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshireplayed the roles of Sharon Eversleigh in the film of the television series Please Sir!, Sandra in the BBC TV series Porridge, and starred in two Carry On filmsremembered for playing Dennis Dunstable in London Weekend Television's Please Sir!, and its spin-off series The Fenn Street Gang, taking on the role ofEnglish actor best known for his role as Peter Craven in the TV series Please Sir!, the film of the same name, and the spin-off TV series The Fenn StreetThomas & Sarah, Wodehouse Playhouse, Little Miss (original TV series), Please Sir! and Fireman Sam (the original series). Alderton has often starred alongsideintense Shakespearean roles. Her television work included the sitcoms, Please Sir! (1968–72) and Me and My Girl (1984–88).
